Product Manager Digital Health Studies Location: Berlin/Potsdam – Full-time, Permanent contract.
Darum lohnt es sich
Our Product and Project Management team translates research ambition into products that generate real impact in healthcare, in Germany and beyond.
With a no‑code study builder, paperless consent management, and a participant mobile app (Android & Apple), D4L Collect lets research teams set up and run their studies end‑to‑end while keeping full control of their data.
Future Role As a Senior Product Manager you will partner with the Lead Product Manager, Senior Project Manager and cross‑functional teams—including engineering, product design, QA, BizDev, Comms, Scientific Team, and regulatory—to make D4L Collect the platform of choice for digital health and real‑world studies.
Extend D4L Collect’s capture and connect functionality—adding first‑class support for new sensors (wearables, insulin pumps, portable X‑ray devices), integrating EHR data via HL7 FHIR (including the International Patient Summary), and expanding the standard questionnaire library including SDoH.
Benefits & Culture Nonprofit work with a clear purpose—making the world a healthier place—providing tangible impact on research and socially impactful projects. Diverse, international team spanning Potsdam, Berlin and Singapore, collaborating with leading partners in research, technology, and healthcare.
Overview Our goal at Data4Life is to make the world a healthier place. D4L Collect is our sensor data collection platform for digital health studies.
It allows researchers to simultaneously capture patient‑reported and multimodal sensor data, from laboratory‑grade devices to consumer wearables, and brings it all together as a unified, interoperable, GDPR‑compliant dataset in FHIR.
We are now investing in D4L Collect’s next chapter – deepening it for clinical research (RWD studies, cohort studies, patient registries, RCTs), enriching it with validated patient‑reported outcome instruments, clinician data entry, electronic data capture, richer EHR interoperability, and stronger regulatory rigor.
Responsibilities Drive the next evolution of D4L Collect, shaping the roadmap for a Patient Registry solution, an electronic data capture platform, and a validated ePRO library. Ship a regulatory‑grade product, treating compliance as a design constraint rather than a tax; e.g. 21 CFR Part 11 audit trails and eConsent with e‑signatures.
Enable clinical trial standards through import from REDCap and other commercial EDC/CTMS solutions, and export to CDISC SDTM, thereby providing investigators, sponsors and study sites with usable capabilities.
Be the user's advocate: build and maintain deep relationships with sites, investigators, study coordinators, clinicians, patients and participants to ensure their voices shape prioritisation.
Qualifications 3 + years building a strong product‑craft foundation—discovery, roadmap, prioritisation, and PRDs—in an agile environment. 3 + years of progressive product‑management experience in B2B or regulated digital health solutions, with at least one year directly defining and shipping clinical‑research software (EDC, ePRO/eCOA, eConsent, patient registry or sensor‑based study platforms).
Hands‑on experience shipping under GCP/ICH E6(R3), 21 CFR Part 11, and EU Annex 11, including computer system validation and audit‑ready release management. Working fluency in clinical data standards (CDISC SDTM, CDASH) and a working understanding of HIPAA + GDPR as they apply to clinical trials and real‑world data.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, (Bio)medical Engineering, Health Informatics, Life Sciences, or equivalent practical experience. Fluency in English; German at B2 level and/or a third language is a plus. Real work‑life balance: flexible working hours, 30 days paid vacation, mobile work option.
Support for private healthcare and sustainable mobility. Employee‑driven initiatives such as climate and DEI groups. Our Commitment to Diversity We care about diversity. Many different lives, careers and development paths bring us together.
