Job Description Job Title: Senior Product Manager (Frontier Tech) Req ID: 62361 Job Function: Product & Propositions Posting Start Date: 03/09/2026 Posting End Date: 25/09/2026 Division: Strategy & Change Job Location: GBR Bristol - Assembly, GBR-London-BTHQ One Braham, GBR-Manchester-New Bailey Advertised Salary: Competitive Salary plus benefits About the role BT sits at the heart of the UK’s digital economy, connecting millions of people, businesses and critical public services.
You will lead through influence and clarity, not hierarchy — aligning cross-functional teams around the most important problems, making trade-offs explicit, and ensuring effort is focused on what drives the greatest impact.
Partner with commercial, operational and product teams to transition successful products into customer-facing business units and deliver real-world adoption at scale. • Champion customer value and product quality Ensure products solve real customer problems and deliver high-quality, coherent experiences.
Provide clarity in ambiguous situations and build confidence through transparent decision-making and measurable progress. • Shape how we build products at BT Act as a role model for modern, outcome-led product management.
Help shift teams from feature delivery to value creation, embedding practices around discovery, experimentation, AI-enabled development and evidence-led governance.
Essential Skills / Experience • Significant experience leading end-to-end product strategy, discovery, delivery and scale-up in complex, ambiguous environments. • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams without direct authority • Strong commercial awareness — comfortable making trade-offs that balance customer value and business impact • High confidence in understanding, explaining and interacting with emerging and new technologies.
Desirable Skills / Experience • Strong product judgement — able to navigate ambiguity and make high-quality decisions with incomplete information • Track record of delivering measurable outcomes (e.g. adoption, revenue, customer impact), not just outputs • Platform and ecosystem thinking, including partner selection and build/buy/partner decisions. • Experience building or working on data-driven or AI-enabled products • Experience using AI tools and techniques to accelerate product development (e.g. insight generation, prototyping, experimentation or engineering workflows), not just embedding AI into end‑user products Our Package Tailored benefits make a real difference.
Your core benefits include: • Company car scheme (or cash alternative) • 15% on target annual bonus • Private healthcare for you and your family • Access to an online private GP 24/7 for you and your immediate family • Market-leading paid carers leave with up to 2 weeks off • Equalised maternity, paternity, and adoption leave - 18 weeks’ full pay and 8 weeks’ half pay • Discounted EE and BT products, including mobile and broadband • Market leading Pension scheme - 5% from you and 10% from us • Holiday purchase scheme You can select additional benefits, including healthcare, dental, gym memberships and more when you’re ready.
Group teams shape strategy, policy, brand, capital allocation and transformation, helping the whole organisation perform at its best. These behaviours unite us as one team to deliver for our colleagues, our customers, our stakeholders and the country.
As new wave of connected devices emerge, from autonomous systems and physical AI to software-defined infrastructure and as our existing network becomes more intelligent, the role of the network is shifting from connectivity to intelligence.
What makes this role different: • You will work on products built on one of the UK’s largest and most critical digital platforms • You will operate in high-ambiguity spaces where the problems are not yet fully defined • You will take products from concept through to national-scale deployment • You will help define how a major organisation evolves from connectivity provider to platform and product innovator • You will shape what AI-native product development looks like in a large-scale, real-world environment What you’ll be doing You are accountable for defining product direction and delivering measurable outcomes within a strategically important domain.
You operate where customer need, technological possibility and commercial value intersect — making clear, evidence-led decisions about where BT should play and how we win.
You will take products from early-stage exploration through to scaled adoption — using AI-enabled approaches to accelerate discovery, prototyping and delivery, reducing time to market and improving product quality.
What you will be accountable for: • Define product vision, strategy and commercial outcomes Own the vision and strategy for your product area, translating customer needs and emerging technology into clear product direction.
You are accountable for outcomes — including adoption, revenue growth and strategic impact — not just delivery. • Own the problem space and investment choices Frame and continuously refine the problems that matter most.
Make clear, evidence-based decisions on where to invest — and where not to — balancing customer value, commercial return, risk and effort. • Lead discovery, learning and AI-accelerated decision making Drive continuous discovery with Design and Engineering, using research, data and experimentation to test assumptions and reduce risk.
Use AI to synthesise insight, generate and test concepts, and accelerate learning cycles — ensuring decisions are grounded in evidence, not opinion. • Build AI-native products and ways of working Leverage AI both within products and across the product development lifecycle.
Use AI to accelerate how products are conceived, designed and built — from insight generation and prototyping through to engineering and optimisation.
Define what high-quality, AI-native product development looks like at BT, balancing speed with strong standards for data quality, model performance, trust and human oversight. • Drive products from incubation to scale Work across the full lifecycle — from early concept through to scaled deployment.
Set a high bar for usability, accessibility and adoption, working closely with Design to maintain consistency as products scale. • Lead through influence and clarity Operate effectively in a complex organisation, aligning stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Commercial and Operations.
That’s why we offer a comprehensive range to support your growth, wellbeing, and everyday life. You can design the package to suit you and your lifestyle. BT Group is the UK’s leading communications group and the holding company behind some of the country’s most recognised brands - including BT, EE, Openreach and Plusnet.
Our purpose is as simple as it is ambitious: we connect for good. Our customers include consumers, small, medium and large businesses, public sector organisations and other communications providers. BT Group’s role is about setting direction, unlocking value and creating the conditions for our brands and businesses to thrive.
Having come through the most capital-intensive phase of our fibre investment, our focus now is on what comes next - simplifying how we operate, using technology and AI to work smarter, and organising ourselves to serve customers better and grow sustainably.
We have a singular culture that unites all our people: we are customer-first challengers, who are committed, clear and connected.
