Sales Enablement: Equip sales teams with product expertise and channel-ready materials to support effective selling and customer engagement. Technical Depth: Technically strong enough to challenge engineering teams and earn their respect, while remaining commercially and market-oriented in your own priorities.

Project Management: Proven ability to run complex hardware development processes across distributed teams, managing timelines, milestones, and cross-functional dependencies. Communication & Collaboration: Precise and structured communicator who can work effectively across distributed, international teams.

International scope with approximately 10–15% travel across key European markets. 1–2 weeks per year on-site in Hong Kong, collaborating closely with global software engineering teams.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Hardware (m/f/d/x) to own and drive the development of Salus's hardware product portfolio within the smart energy and HVAC control ecosystem.

You will take end-to-end ownership of the hardware product lifecycle — from product strategy and requirements definition through to industrialization, launch, and lifecycle management.

What will you do: Product Strategy & Business Case: Take end-to-end ownership of the hardware product strategy, defining business cases and translating business objectives into scalable, market-ready product initiatives — including price positioning, margin targets, and BOM economics.

Market & Customer Discovery: Drive continuous customer and market research — including primary research with installers and end customers — to identify needs, define product requirements grounded in market realities, and translate insights into actionable specifications.

Product Vision & Roadmap: Define and own the hardware product roadmap, aligned with customer feedback, market insights, and long-term business objectives. Think in portfolio and lifecycle terms, not feature by feature.

Product Lifecycle Management: Own the end-to-end hardware product lifecycle from discovery through industrialization, launch, and end-of-life, ensuring timely execution, high product quality, and clear stage-gate criteria at each phase.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, technical product management, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing, and sales to bring products from concept to market. You are technically strong enough to challenge engineering and collaborative enough to influence across geographies.

Go-to-Market Enablement: Partner with marketing and sales on product positioning, pricing, messaging input, and launch readiness. Performance & Analytics: Monitor hardware product performance using relevant KPIs and market feedback to drive continuous improvement and roadmap iteration.

Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications are a plus. Experience: 5–8+ years of experience as a Product Manager, preferably in B2B2C environments with complex, customer-facing hardware products — in HVAC, IoT, consumer electronics, or adjacent spaces.

Product Ownership Track Record: Demonstrated success in taking hardware products from concept through to mass production. You have launched full products end-to-end, not just managed features or variants within someone else's portfolio.

Commercial Fluency: You think in business impact — business cases, BOM economics, margin contribution, and price positioning. You can explain the unit economics of a hardware product and own the commercial logic behind it.

Manufacturing & Supply Chain Understanding: Familiarity with hardware development processes including Design for Manufacturing, stage-gate build phases, and working with manufacturing partners. Experience managing European certification and regulatory requirements is a strong advantage.

Market-Led Requirements Definition: Ability to translate installer and end-customer needs into concrete product specifications — backed by primary research, not just internal feedback or sales requests.
