We are seeking a Senior German Medical Coding Specialist (Kodierfachkraft) to provide Inpatient, Outpatient, ED and Ambulatory coding inputs specific to German healthcare systems.

You will serve as a liaison with product management, engineering, and data science to provide inputs into product development.
You will use your years of hands-on German hospital (inpatient) and clinics (outpatient) coding experience to support the development of AI models that use clinical documents to extract ICD-10-GM codes, OPS procedure codes, G-DRG grouping codes for inpatient services, EBM / GOA codes for outpatient services.
You will directly influence how the product understands German clinical documentation, applies coding guidelines when generating these codes.
Collect, input, verify, correct, and analyze data to measure key performance indicators versus business objectives.Qualifications:5+ years hands-on experience as a Kodierfachkraft or Medizincontroller in a German health delivery systemDemonstrated expertise in extracting and assigning ICD-10-GM diagnosis codes from German clinical documentationDemonstrated expertise in extracting and assigning OPS procedure codes from German clinical documentation Experience with EBM outpatient coding and/or GOÄ billing in addition to inpatient expertiseThorough understanding of Hauptdiagnose determination rules and Nebendiagnose qualification criteria per current DKRUnderstanding of what supporting evidence is required to justify code assignmentsMulti-year experience with G-DRG grouper software and understanding of grouper logic, CCL/PCCL scoringExperience interacting with Patientenabrechnung (billing department) and Kostenträger (payers/Krankenkassen) on coding-related billing issuesMedizinische Kodierfachkraft (IHK) or equivalent recognized certification (TÜV Rheinland Kodierfachkraft certificate or comparable industry credential)Experience with German hospital coding and grouper software (e.g., ID DIACOS, 3M Kodierungssoftware, Kodip, DRG-Workplace, or similar)Working knowledge of Krankenhausinformationssysteme (KIS) such as SAP i.s.h.med, Dedalus ORBIS, Agfa HealthCare, or Cerner Millennium as deployed in German hospitalsFluent in German and English, both written and spoken.Full timePosting Date: 2026-06-09
