Personio is on the path to becoming an AI-first company, redesigning how every department operates, and the Internal AI team is leading that transformation from the inside.

You own the roadmap and you ship it, working alongside a team of AI Engineers when projects need deeper technical depth.

Role Responsibilities: What you’ll do Shape the roadmap Map workflows with department leadership and C-level stakeholders to identify where time and capacity are lost, distinguishing what can be accelerated from what should be redesigned entirely Push beyond "automate what exists": the highest-value opportunities redesign the workflow, not just speed it up Size and validate before building; maintain a prioritised backlog with clear rationale, and own the quarterly view presented to your domain head and C-level counterparts Represent the Internal AI team in your domain, surfacing blockers and opportunities back to the Director of AI and keeping senior stakeholders aligned on priorities and tradeoffs Contribute to how the Internal AI PM team operates: share approaches to prioritisation, governance, and stakeholder alignment that raise the bar across the function Build and ship to production Design, build, test, and deploy automations and agents across your domain using Personio's internal AI stack, taking solutions from initial scoping through to production systems the business relies on Own the full build lifecycle: not just prototypes, but live, maintained solutions with real adoption and measurable outcomes Bring in AI Engineers for the most complex problems; know where that line is and involve them early Register every build in the Tool Register and uphold Personio's AI governance standards: your solutions set the bar for the whole organisation Drive adoption and outcomes Shipping is not the finish line; adoption is.

The goal is a function that moves with AI independently, not one that waits for the AI team Role Requirements: What you need to succeed 5–7+ years in automation, AI engineering, or a hands-on product management role at a high-paced tech company or consulting firm; professional experience shipping production solutions, not prototypes Proven track record building and deploying automations and AI solutions end-to-end in a production business context, from requirements through to live, maintained systems Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI or equivalent), agent frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar), MCP, and RAG patterns Hands-on experience with no-code automation platforms including n8n, Make, Zapier, and Cowork Proficient in Python and SQL; working knowledge of HTML/CSS Demonstrated product judgment: proven ability to translate ambiguous business needs into scoped solutions, build and defend a prioritised roadmap, and navigate tradeoffs with senior and C-level stakeholders Track record of cross-functional influence at a senior level: aligning stakeholders across functions, shaping strategic direction, and driving change without direct authority Deep knowledge of the AI and automation landscape, with a clear understanding of what the tools can and can’t do and how the space is evolving Why Personio?

Personio's intelligent HR platform helps small and medium-sized organizations unlock the power of people by making complicated, time-consuming tasks simple and efficient. This position can be office-based (hybrid) in the following cities: Munich, Berlin, or Dublin.

Central to that mission is building Personio's internal AI operating system: the layer of automations, agents, and tools each function runs on. Internal AI PMs own this at the domain level — taking on the most complex or highest-stakes business functions, working end-to-end from process mapping to roadmap to adoption.

Most PMs hand off to engineers. This role is different. We're looking for experienced builders with direct, hands-on experience with AI and automation — people who have already shipped things in production and can bring that credibility into conversations with C-level stakeholders.

Own whether solutions get used and deliver the outcomes you scoped Track usage and impact after deployment and iterate based on real usage, not spec assumptions Build AI capability across your domain by running sessions, office hours, and hands-on coaching that help colleagues adopt AI tools and build simple automations themselves.
